In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I would like to share an image of his childhood home in Atlanta. This image, and copy below, is via www.discoverblackheritage.com
Born January 15, 1929, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spent the first 12 years of his life in this modest Queen Anne-style home located in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood of Atlanta. Furnished with both original or period reproduction pieces, as well as personal items of the family, the house has been restored to its appearance during King’s boyhood years. To sign up for tours, go to the Visitor Center operated by the National Park Service at 450 Auburn Ave. Be sure to check out the virtual tour.
